TCL X11L TV gets Mini LED matrix brighter than OLED

TCL is bringing its flagship X11L series to the European market, previously showcased at CES 2026 as one of the brand’s most ambitious models. The manufacturer relies on SQD-Mini LED technology, aiming to prove that these panels can not only compete with OLED but even surpass them in brightness.

Brightness beyond the ordinary

The main highlight of the series is the CSOT WHVA 2.0 panel. In the top 98-inch version, it delivers a peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits in HDR mode. For comparison, most premium TVs on the market reach only 2,000–3,000 nits.

To maintain image detail at such high brightness, an advanced local dimming system is used. Depending on the screen size, the number of zones ranges from 11,520 to 20,736, achieving deep blacks and contrast levels close to OLED performance.

Color accuracy, HDR, and gaming features

The TV covers 100% of the BT.2020 color space, making it ideal for watching content in the highest quality. Both Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ are supported by default.

For gamers, the base refresh rate is 144 Hz, which can be boosted up to 288 Hz using the VRR Game Accelerator technology. While resolution drops slightly, motion clarity in fast scenes is significantly improved.

Design and audio

Despite its advanced features, the TV remains ultra-thin — only 20 mm at its thinnest point. Nearly bezel-less edges enhance the immersive viewing experience.

The built-in audio system was developed in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen and supports DTS Virtual:X, delivering more immersive sound compared to standard integrated speakers.

Features and pricing

The TV runs on Google TV, providing access to popular streaming services and supporting Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast. Four HDMI 2.1 ports allow seamless connection to modern devices.

European pricing is already announced: the 75-inch model costs around €4,000, the 85-inch version about €5,700, and the massive 98-inch TV is priced at roughly €9,000. Sales start on April 10.
