OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro combined the functions of a game console and a mini-laptop
19.06.26
In the market of portable gaming computers, a serious breakthrough has emerged, new technological consoles are breaking peak power records. The developer of One Netbook took a big step forward and announced on the Indiegogo platform a fundraiser for a device called OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro.
OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro is an advanced portable computer of the highest gaming class in a compact ergonomic design. The project is positioned as the ultimate pocket PC for demanding games and complex tasks. The One Netbook manufacturer managed to combine a universal modular concept with the computing potential of a full-size desktop station by introducing a revolutionary component base.
Technical specifications

The heart of the gaming console was a completely new AMD Ryzen AI Max + 388 chip (built on the Strix Halo architecture). This processor offers gamers:
- 8 physical cores and 16 computing threads with a maximum core clock frequency of up to 5.0 GHz and a 32 MB L3 cache buffer;
- Powerful integrated graphics coprocessor Radeon 8060S;
- Flexibly adjustable processor TDP range from a moderate 45 to a crazy 120 W at maximum boost, which allows you to optimize battery life for each individual task or game;
- The basic model is equipped with 48 GB of ultra-fast RAM of the latest LPDDR5x standard. Advanced configurations have an incredible amount of RAM up to 64 GB;
- High-speed PCIe 4.0 type M.2 2280 SSD from 1 TB to 2 TB. In addition, the board is equipped with an additional connector for an auxiliary SSD of the mini-M.2 format with a capacity of up to 2 TB and a microSD memory card expansion slot (also with a capacity of up to 2 TB);
- A battery with an energy capacity of 85 Wh with a convenient mechanism for its quick “hot” replacement without rebooting the system. It saves the session even when the dead battery is physically replaced.
OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro weighs 719 grams without battery. All the necessary peripheral interfaces are on board, including the latest USB4 interface, a set of USB 3.2 connectors in Type-C and Type-A format, as well as the usual 3.5 mm analog output for wired headphones.
Features of the modification with liquid cooling

Dissipating up to 120 W of heat generated by the processor in the compact body of the console is extremely difficult. Along with the regular version of the gadget with air blowing, the manufacturer presented a special modification called Liquid-Cooled Edition. This version of the device has a hardware interface for connecting to a special compact desktop magnetic docking station for Frost Bay liquid cooling, which reliably protects the device from overheating and thermal throttling.
Great AMOLED display and transformation of the console into an ultrabook

For visual display, OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro offers a premium touchscreen 8.8-inch AMOLED panel. The refresh rate of the display reaches 144 Hz, flawless processing of depth is claimed due to the HDR option and VRR technology of smooth frame changes.
The side manipulators here are removable. They are equipped with wear-resistant control mechanisms on Hall sensors, which reliably protect the device from the problem of joint drift. The design of the console is designed to be universal: after removing the external gamepads and connecting a compatible light keyboard from the front using a magnetic port, the gaming device turns into a thin mini-laptop in a second. In addition, the touch pad of the display works with a special feather-stylus.
Price
This unique technological solution will cost a lot. At the current Indiegogo crowdfunding stage, the retail price tag starts at $2,466 for the basic hardware (48GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD). As for the premium Liquid-Cooled Edition line with increased storage capacity, advanced RAM and support for the magnetic Frost Bay, the price of such a kit will reach $2,859.
