One UI 9 for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series: what’s new in the fourth version

Samsung continues to actively test its software shell by releasing the fourth beta version of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 line of smartphones. The update was released exactly a month after the release of the third build, which indicates an acceleration of the development cycle.

What’s new in the fourth beta version of One UI 9

Currently, the new firmware under the symbol ZZG4 has primarily become available to users in India. The update file size is about 1.25 GB, so the developers recommend downloading it exclusively through a high-speed Internet connection. The update is aimed at improving system stability and eliminating critical errors.

Major fixes and security patch

According to the list of changes, the developers paid attention to the following aspects of the interface and system functions:

  • Optimizing clock font size;
  • Fixing errors in the Quick Panel;
  • Fixed navigation bar;
  • Fixed timer notifications;
  • Improvement to the Routines app.

An important addition to this build is the current Google security patch, dated July 5, 2026, which provides more reliable protection of user data.

Release date and availability

The full release of the One UI 9 interface is scheduled for the second half of July. There’s not long to wait. The new shell will become the software basis for the company’s upcoming new products: Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and Flip8. The official Galaxy Unpacked event where these foldable devices will be unveiled is set for July 22nd. Following market launch on new Fold devices, Samsung will begin rolling out One UI 9 in a phased manner as an update to legacy models.

Is it worth installing the beta version

Participation in the beta testing program is an excellent opportunity to evaluate the capabilities of the system in advance. However, it is worth remembering that even after the fourth iteration, the firmware may contain residual bugs, so it is advisable to do a preliminary backup. If you’re already enrolled in the One UI 9 beta program, expect an OTA update soon.
