Google Teases Pixel 11 Pro Fold Ahead of August 12 Launch
03.08.26
Google is gearing up for its “Made by Google” event, where the Pixel 11 series is set to officially debut on August 12. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has taken center stage in pre-release materials, with the company releasing a teaser showcasing the design of the new foldable device.
Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Expectations vs. Reality
The new device comes as no surprise to the industry: the smartphone’s design is almost identical to its predecessor, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Google accompanied the video with the tagline: “To switch phones, you have to be open to what’s new. And to what opens.” Many experts have found this statement ironic, as the new model lacks any significant technical breakthroughs.
Design Features and Specs
Despite the familiar look, minor cosmetic changes have been made: the camera module has been slightly redesigned, and the LED flash now includes RGB lighting. Important changes were made to the dimensions: the device is 10.1 mm thick when folded and weighs 239 grams, making it slightly thinner and lighter than the previous version.
The core specs remain the same: a 6.4-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner display, both using 120 Hz OLED panels. The camera setup is also identical: a 48 MP main sensor, a 10 MP ultrawide, a 10 MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom, and two 10 MP selfie cameras (f/2.2).
Comparison of Specifications
| Feature | Details |
| Main Chip | Google Tensor G6 |
| Weight | 239 g |
| Thickness (Folded) | 10.1 mm |
| RAM | 12 GB |
| Displays | Dual OLED, 120 Hz |
Performance and Internal Hardware
The primary technical update will be the inclusion of the new ARM-based Google Tensor G6 processor. Meanwhile, the smartphone will see “downgrades” in other areas: reports suggest the base model will feature 12 GB of RAM, down from the 16 GB found in its predecessor. Additionally, a smaller battery capacity is expected.
Release Date and Pricing
The official presentation is scheduled for August 12. Regarding pricing, users should look to the predecessor, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which was priced at just over $1,024. It is anticipated that Google may increase the prices of the Pixel 11 series due to market shifts.
