Asus Adol HC112: a compact 11-in-1 docking station with 8K support

Modern laptops are becoming thinner and thinner, which is why manufacturers often deprive users of necessary ports. The Asus Adol HC112 docking station is designed to solve this problem by offering advanced connectivity options in a compact body.

Positioning

Asus Adol HC112 is a multifunctional hub that combines eleven different interfaces. Despite the rich functionality, the device weighs only 81 grams and has dimensions of 116 x 48 x 15 mm. The aluminum alloy body effectively dissipates heat during active use, while the accessory fits easily even in the smallest bag.

Display options: 8K and 240 Hz

Despite its miniature size, the docking station supports a serious graphics load. Thanks to the presence of HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 ports, users can connect up to three monitors simultaneously. The following modes are available:

  • 8K @ 30 Hz (via DisplayPort);
  • 4K at 120Hz (via HDMI);
  • Full HD at 240 Hz.

Data transfer speed and ports

The device is equipped with three USB-A 3.2 and one USB-C 3.2 ports, which provide data transfer at a speed of up to 10 Gbit/s. In addition, the hub’s arsenal includes:

  • Gigabit Ethernet for stable wired Internet;
  • 3.5 mm audio jack;
  • Slots for SD and microSD memory cards (support simultaneous operation).

Support for Power Delivery 3.0 end-to-end charging deserves special attention. The USB-C port allows you to charge a laptop with a power of up to 100 W, freeing up other ports for peripherals.

Price and availability

Asus Adol HC112 works on the Plug and Play principle and is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPadOS. In China, the standard price is 329 yuan ($46/€42.42 (1870 UAH)). As part of a promotion at the start of sales, the price was reduced to 299 yuan ($42/€38.74 (1710 UAH)).

Considering the high-quality metal case and the possibility of connecting high-resolution external displays, the device is the optimal solution for turning a light ultrabook into a full-fledged workstation. It favorably stands out from many competitors with the help of an adequate price and a large set of ports.
