Apple iOS 27: a professional camera in a smartphone

The iOS 27 operating system promises to bring long-awaited changes for mobile photography lovers. As it became known from the Bloomberg report, Apple plans to significantly redesign the interface of the Camera application on the iPhone, giving users more freedom in managing the shooting process.
The main vector of iOS 27 development will be the transition to customization. The traditionally conservative interface of the Apple camera will turn into a flexible system that every iPhone owner will be able to adjust for himself.
Features and management capabilities
The key innovation in the program will be the Add Widgets panel. This tool will allow you to add or remove controls from the camera home screen. Now users will be able to decide for themselves whether they need quick access to flash settings, change resolution or activate Live Photos.
For those who prefer full control over the frame, Apple is preparing new tools for working with depth of field and exposure. iOS 27 will feature expanded Photo Styles modes, as well as updated auxiliary grids and digital layers for more precise composition creation. An important change in ergonomics will be moving the parameter adjustment buttons closer to the shutter release button, which will make it easier to operate the camera with one hand.
Visual Intelligence
The update of the Camera program is closely related to the development of artificial intelligence. Apple integrates a new Siri mode into the camera, which supports Visual Intelligence technology. This system will allow you to use the camera as a tool for analyzing reality: perform instant text translation, search for information about objects in the frame, and process complex visual queries directly in the process of viewing the image.
Other system innovations and release date
In addition to the camera, changes will affect the interfaces of the Safari browser, the Weather application (Weather), Image Playground tools and the voice assistant Siri. Apple plans to officially introduce iOS 27 at the annual conference WWDC 2026. The event is expected to start on June 8, 2026.
