Steamroller: first gaming PC with SteamOS pre-installed
30.06.26
MetaPCs has opened pre-orders for its new gaming computer called Steamroller. The main feature of the device is the pre-installed SteamOS operating system, making it one of the first modern pre-built gaming PCs to ship with Valve software right out of the box. The price of the device is 52,230 UAH (1,299 dollars).
Technical characteristics of Steamroller
The computer is built on a powerful desktop architecture. The basis of the system is:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (6 cores, Zen 5, frequency from 3.9 to 5.4 GHz).
- Video card: Radeon RX 7600 (2048 shader units, 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM, 128-bit interface).
- RAM: 16 GB DDR5-5600
- Storage: 1 TB NVMe SSD.
- Power system and cooling: 650 W 80+ Gold power supply and 240 mm liquid cooling system (AIO).
- Motherboard: B850M with WiFi support.
All components are housed in a stylish Jonsbo D32 case.

Compared to the original Steam Machine, the model from MetaPCs demonstrates significantly higher performance. While the Steam Machine is equipped with semi-custom RX 7600M laptop-level graphics chips, the Steamroller offers full-fledged desktop power designed for traditional gamers.
Availability and support
Deliveries of the first systems are expected to begin on July 3 this year. At the moment, only residents of the USA and Canada can purchase the new product. The manufacturer provides lifetime support with free diagnostics and service work. If necessary, users can purchase an extended warranty for hardware components: $180 for two years or $240 for three years of protection.
