Oura Ring 5: titanium ring with AI and autonomy of up to 30 days

Oura Ring 5, a new smart ring, has been announced and promises to revolutionize the way we think about compact wearable gadgets. The well-known manufacturer has prepared a model with a more ergonomic design, significantly reduced dimensions and increased accuracy of health monitoring. An important update was the integration of new software that transforms the system of everyday health analytics into an intelligent, predictive platform.

According to the manufacturer’s official statement, the novelty is the thinnest and lightest device in this form factor on the market. Oura Ring 5 looks much more elegant than the usual smart watch and inconspicuously collects detailed metrics of vital activity directly from the finger.

Technical characteristics of Oura Ring 5

The new generation has shrunk by as much as 40% compared to its predecessor Oura Ring 4. Current ring measurements:

  • Case width: only 6.09 mm
  • Thickness: 2.28 mm
  • Sizes available for order: from 6 to 13 ring size.

Despite the colossal reduction in size, an advanced scanning system consisting of 12 reading signals is hidden inside. The secret of record comfort was the updated high-precision, low-profile dome-shaped sensors. Soft protrusions are barely noticeable in contact with the skin, increasing both the convenience of everyday wear and the quality of medical data received by the sensors.

Colors and features

The device is protected according to the strictest global industrial criteria. The moisture protection of the housing is certified according to the IP68 standard and is designed for short-term immersion or swimming at depths of up to 100 meters. The ring is made of incredibly abrasion-resistant titanium and is offered in 6 premium colors: Gold, Deep Rose, Brushed Silver, Stealth, Black, Silver. The updated gold version (Gold) has acquired a stylish light light glow, while the fresh Deep Rose design offers a stunning deep pink shade.

Incredible autonomy

Oura Ring 5 provides excellent indicators of battery life: from 6 to 9 days from one charge, depending on the personal intensity of tracking. For frequent travelers, Oura has prepared an additional external charging case (sold separately). This miniature case made of high-quality recycled aluminum is the size of a regular matchbox, supports wireless power on the go and increases the total autonomy time of the device to 30 calendar days.

AI monitoring

Together with the fifth ring, the developers launched new AI services. In partnership with Counsel Health, users received:

  • Health Radar — an individual scan of abnormal indicators and a preliminary forecast of changes in your well-being based on smart AI algorithms.
  • GLP-1 Insights — trends in general medical metabolic profiling.
  • Updated tracking of general physical activity with the function of direct output of information in real time.

A fresh set of smart AI utilities will be available in the software of Oura Gen3 and other relatively new devices of the brand.

Release date and price

The brand has officially announced that it is accepting pre-orders. The official price of the Oura Ring 5 ring on the market is $399 (which is equivalent to approximately 16,500 hryvnias), it turned out to be insignificantly higher than the threshold price tag of the fourth generation, but it is fully due to a huge leap in terms of minimizing the size and density of the placement of sensors.

For everyone who is looking for an ergonomic, premium fitness accessory with hidden action without a bright, distracting display, this new product will be an absolutely uncompromising solution. Oura’s ideal titanium shell, increased waterproofing and advanced diagnostic recommendations surpass most of its counterparts on the global IT market.
