Huawei Pura X View Debuts With 6.39-Inch Wide OLED Display
21.08.26
Huawei is pushing boundaries with the introduction of the Huawei Pura X View. It is the brand’s first wide-format smartphone that ditches the folding mechanism, offering users a fundamentally new way to interact with content.
The device was officially showcased during the presentation of the Enjoy G9 electric car, which runs on HarmonyOS. This move highlights the integration of the Huawei ecosystem, although the gadget’s debut was initially expected to take place next month.
Display Specs and Design

One of the smartphone’s key features is its 6.39-inch OLED screen with an unconventional 16:9.5 aspect ratio. The display specs are impressive: a resolution of 2232 × 1320 pixels and a PWM dimming frequency of 2160 Hz. The panel boasts a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a record-breaking peak brightness of up to 6500 nits. The bezels have been minimized to 1.05 mm, resulting in a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio.
Richard Yu, head of Huawei’s consumer business group, noted that the usable screen area reaches 114.27 cm², allowing the Pura X View to display more content than traditional 6.9-inch models.
Technical Features and Battery Life

Despite its unusual form factor and a slim 6.68 mm chassis, the manufacturer managed to fit a 7,000 mAh battery into the device. The gadget weighs 201 grams and runs on the new HarmonyOS 7.0 operating system. The back panel features a striking texture and a prominent “racetrack”-style camera module.
Available Versions and Colors

The model will be available in four color options that highlight the new design:
- Shadow Red
- Linen Grey
- Zero White
- Phantom Black
Release Date and Pricing

Pre-orders for the Huawei Pura X View officially start on August 28. At the moment, information regarding the device’s price and plans for a global release remains undisclosed.
The Huawei Pura X View is a unique experiment in smartphone design. The wide screen may prove particularly convenient for reading, gaming, and multitasking, while the large battery compensates for the increased power demands. However, the niche nature of the device and the currently unknown price make it difficult to gauge its prospects in the mass market.
