Xiaomi has officially launched pre-orders for its debut NAS device, Xiaomi Smart Storage. The product, which successfully completed its crowdfunding phase, is available for order on the JD.com platform from August 27 to September 26.

What Is Xiaomi Smart Storage

Xiaomi Smart Storage is a dual-bay network-attached storage device aimed at mainstream users. Beyond file storage, the device serves as a full-fledged gateway for the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem. The system allows for automated backups of Xiaomi security camera footage, while the dedicated smartphone app ensures fast file management and comprehensive data backup.

Specs and Capabilities

Under the hood, the NAS is powered by a quad-core Realtek RTD1619B processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The unit is housed in a durable aluminum alloy chassis measuring 200.5 x 85 x 161 mm and weighing approximately 2.3 kg.

  • Storage support: two bays for 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives.
  • Maximum capacity: the hardware architecture supports drives up to 30TB each, for a total of 60TB.
  • Connectivity: 2.5G Ethernet port, HDMI, and USB-A.
