New Sony Xperia Surfaces: What to Expect

Sony is officially preparing to expand its Xperia smartphone lineup. The company has confirmed a presentation for a new model, set to take place on Tuesday, August 25. The event will be streamed live on YouTube, with the start scheduled for 11:00 AM Japan Standard Time, which corresponds to 4:00 AM Central European Summer Time (CEST) on August 26.

What Is Known About the New Sony Xperia

Although the company did not reveal the model name in the official announcement, current leaks indicate that the new device will be the Sony Xperia 10 VIII (MK8). The previous smartphone in the series, the Xperia 10 VII (MK7), was released last September. If the predictions are confirmed, the launch of the Xperia 10 VIII will take place nearly a month ahead of the expected schedule.

Technical Specifications and Hardware Platform

According to information obtained from a recent Geekbench test, the new model will maintain continuity in its hardware. The Xperia 10 VIII (MK8) will utilize the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset found in the previous generation of the device.

Should You Expect Major Changes

While exact specifications are currently limited, primary data from tests confirms the use of the tried-and-tested Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Fans of the brand are eager to see how software optimization and other internal components will impact the device’s performance compared to its predecessor, whose performance metrics were recorded on Geekbench. Sony’s official broadcast will provide final answers regarding the smartphone’s specifications and pricing.
