Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5: Small Buds, Big Ambitions

Sennheiser has introduced the Momentum True Wireless 5, dubbed their “most advanced fully wireless earbuds.” The model builds upon the legacy of the Momentum 5 Wireless over-ear headphones, packing flagship performance into a highly compact form factor.

Lossless audio

Designed for audiophiles who prioritize portability, these earbuds are equipped with proprietary 7mm TrueResponse dynamic transducers. Their primary highlight is the ability to deliver detailed sound with deep, refined bass without distortion.

Technical performance is powered by the latest Bluetooth 6.0 standard with aptX Adaptive support. The device is capable of high-resolution audio transmission (up to 24-bit/96kHz), including the full aptX Lossless format for uncompressed sound reproduction.

Noise Cancellation and Microphones

To combat environmental noise, the earbuds utilize an updated adaptive hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system. Additionally, an automatic wind protection mode is included, ensuring consistent performance even in challenging weather conditions.

Four microphones handle ANC and transparency modes, while voice clarity is managed by a six-microphone array paired with bone conduction accelerometers. The entire system is governed by AI algorithms that precisely filter out background noise from human speech.

Battery Life and Charging

One of the most unique features is the inclusion of user-swappable batteries, a rarity in the TWS market. On a single charge, the earbuds provide up to 12 hours of playback, with the charging case extending total autonomy to 40 hours.

For users on the go, the fast-charging feature provides 1 hour of playback from just 8 minutes in the case. Wireless charging for the case is also supported.

Design and Ergonomics

The aerodynamic design has been refined for comfort: according to tests, 73% of respondents preferred the new “ribless” shape. The case has also been upgraded—it is now slimmer, and a special coating minimizes friction, making it easier and smoother to retrieve from a pocket.

Release Date and Price

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 sales begin on September 3. The model will be available in five stylish colors: Graphite, Cream, Copper, Denim, and Lavender.
