Nothing Phone (4b): An affordable smartphone with character and a Glyph backlight

The Nothing company officially presented the Phone (4b) smartphone, which claims the title of the main device in the ultra-budget segment. The model is designed to occupy a niche left after the refusal of the CMF brand to produce similar devices due to the high cost of memory components. The novelty combines affordability with Nothing style.

Design and features of Nothing Phone (4b)

The smartphone has retained the company’s signature aesthetics: the open screws that have become the brand’s hallmark are clearly visible in the design. The main visual highlight is the Glyph Bar backlight, which not only decorates the device, but also performs a functional role, reacting to incoming messages, calls and system processes.

The dimensions of the device are 164.4 78.2 8.6 mm with a weight of 210 grams. The case has basic protection against dust and splashes according to the IP64 standard.

Technical specifications

The Nothing Phone (4b) display is a 6.77-inch OLED matrix with a resolution of 2344×1080 pixels. The screen supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz and has a significant peak brightness of up to 2000 nits.

The following components are installed inside the device:

  • Processor: 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.
  • RAM: 8 GB LPDDR4X standard.
  • Storage: 128 GB or 256 GB of the UFS 2.2 standard.

The smartphone’s photo capabilities are provided by the main 50 MP module with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an auxiliary 8 MP wide-angle lens. The front camera has a resolution of 16 MP. An important feature of the software is the function of simultaneous video recording on the main and selfie cameras.

Autonomous operation is provided by a battery with a capacity of 5200 mAh (the version for the Indian market received a 6000 mAh battery). Wired charging speed is limited to 33 W.

Release date and price

The Nothing Phone (4b) is available in black, white and blue. An exclusive red version and 256GB storage will also be available to buyers in the Indian market. The gadget is already open for order: the start of sales in branded offline stores is scheduled for July 11, and the model will appear in retailers from July 14.

For the European market, the price is set at €329, which translates to approximately 15,250 hryvnias ($348). Despite the status of a budget smartphone, the novelty offers wide communication capabilities, including support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6.0, and the Japanese version also received eSIM support. Running Android 16 with NothingOS 4.1 will provide users with three years of system updates and six years of security patches.
