Mosqitter eco-trap fights mosquitoes without insecticides and odor
21.06.26
Mosquitoes are rightfully considered one of the most dangerous carriers of infectious diseases and cause hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide every year. That is why the development of effective and safe methods of combating them remains one of the priority tasks. The most common traditional solutions – aerosol insecticides, fumigators and smoke spirals – are usually based on chemicals that can adversely affect the human respiratory system and pose a risk to pets with prolonged use.
As an alternative approach, the Ukrainian deep-tech company Mosqitter offered a line of intelligent protection systems against flying insects, the principle of operation of which does not involve the use of toxic insecticides or other aggressive chemicals.
Principle of action
In the natural environment, mosquitoes find a person, focusing on a complex of biological and physical signals. Carbon dioxide released during breathing, body surface heat and specific characteristics of light radiation are the key factors of involvement. Mosqitter developers managed to reproduce this set of triggers in a single technological device. The hardware part of the system in connection with software algorithms controls the parameters of artificial signals, creating an imitation of the presence of a living organism, which allows you to effectively attract insects from a distance.
Technical characteristics

The Mini version of the device is perfect for protecting open locations of medium size – up to 0.4 hectares (terraces, estates, verandas of restaurant areas). The catcher mesh is adapted to specific parameters. The physical contour settings attract only insects: common mosquitoes, midges and dangerous bugs, guaranteeing 100% safety for safe entomofauna and ecology around (honey bees or butterflies do not react). In addition, the device is equipped with the possibility of quick non-contact cleaning of the catch due to the system of replaceable elements.
Differences between Mosqitter Grand and Mosqitter Mini
Previously, the company has successfully entered international markets: its solutions are used in South American countries, a number of European countries and the USA. Such scaling was largely facilitated by the introduction of the Mosqitter Grand model — a large-sized system made of high-strength steel, which is designed for long-term operation in conditions of high humidity, temperature changes and other adverse weather factors.
The launch of the Mini version became the next logical stage in the development of the line. Unlike the industrial flagship solution, this model is aimed at private users and more compact spaces. While maintaining the basic efficiency, the system received reduced dimensions and optimized internal architecture, which made it more affordable and convenient for everyday use.
| Feature | Mosqitter Grand | Mosqitter Mini |
| Area of the control zone | up to 0.8 ha | up to 0.4 ha |
| Primary purpose | Large surrounding areas, large objects | Private sector, country cottage terrace, housing |
| Permissibility of Use | Except in open spaces outside | Universal design: on outdoor terraces and indoors |
Migration forecasting system
A separate branch of the brand’s activity is the proprietary smart Febris detailed tracking system based on machine intelligence. Using neural network technology, Febris scans wild insect populations, calculating the appearance of each flying parasite, keeping a real-time database and correlating flight volumes with a synoptic weather map. Automated measuring stations will soon be operational in the regions of Ukraine, forming publicly available web monitoring of the local activity map.
Price

The retail price of this innovative imitation trap in Ukraine is fixed at UAH 7,999 (approximately $195). In addition to the main body, original consumable components are also available:
- A set of three eco-nets with replaceable clips – UAH 1,499 (approximately $36);
- A natural, long-lasting Mosqilure bait for continuous protection lasting up to two full months – UAH 1,450 (approximately $35).
Initial shipments will be made to the brand’s partner distribution warehouses, and then the eco-friendly device will be available for sale on leading domestic marketplaces.
The Mini system is well suited for use in outdoor recreation areas – around swimming pools, on private terraces, in summer cottages, and other spaces regularly frequented by people, including children and those sensitive to insect bites. Unlike traditional control methods that rely on tar-based liquids, strong-smelling aerosol repellents, or regular chemical treatments, the device offers a self-contained, long-lasting hardware solution with a more environmentally friendly approach.
