GPD Win Max 3 Chocolate Chip Portable PC: 128GB RAM and 165Hz Screen
01.07.26
The GPD Win Max 3 is getting ready for release, promising to be one of the most powerful portable gaming computers on the market. After the success of previous generations, including the 2025 model based on the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the company is planning a significant leap in performance thanks to the AMD Strix Halo architecture.
What is known about GPD Win Max 3
The first data about the device appeared on the Bilibili platform and was confirmed by third-party retailers, including the GPD Store. Although there is no official announcement date yet, the specifications of the novelty indicate work with AMD Ryzen AI Max series chips, namely the 388 and 395 models.
Technical characteristics and capabilities
The main advantage of GPD Win Max 3 will be an incredible amount of RAM up to 128 GB LPDDR5X-800. Universal support for storage devices is provided for data storage, including M.2 2230, M.2 2280 and Mini SSD 1517 slots. A 97 Wh capacity battery will be placed inside the case, and the dimensions of the device will be 207 x 147 x 34 mm (with additional cooling).

165 Hz screen
The portable PC will receive a 9.06-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1504 pixels. A high refresh rate of 165 Hz makes the device competitive against such gadgets as the RedMagic Astra 2. A high-quality matrix will ensure high smoothness in games and excellent color reproduction.
Release date and price
At the moment, GPD has not officially presented the device and has not named the retail price. Considering that the previous model based on Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 costs about UAH 87,200 ($2,176), it is expected that the new version with the Strix Halo architecture and an expanded amount of RAM will be in the premium price segment.
