Comparing 3 folding smartphones: Honor Magic V6, Oppo Find N6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7

Battle of form factors: compare Honor Magic V6, Oppo Find N6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7

Three views on the future of foldable devices

In today’s mobile technology market, foldable smartphones have evolved from conceptual “toys” to powerful work tools. Today we are faced with three fundamentally different approaches to device design: Honor Magic V6, Oppo Find N6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 demonstrate how much engineering can differ within the same class of gadgets.

Honor Magic V6

Honor Magic V6: bet on minimalism

Honor focuses on extreme compactness. Magic V6 is designed so that when folded it is practically no different from the classic flagship. It’s one of the thinnest devices in its segment, but Honor has managed to pack a record-breaking battery inside for outstanding battery life. A key advantage was IP69 certification, which is not available to competitors. However, the device is not without compromises: users may encounter problems with the color rendering of the internal display and heating under prolonged load.

Oppo Find N6

Oppo Find N6: the golden mean

In turn, the Oppo Find N6 offers a balance that many will find more natural in everyday life. The device fits comfortably in the hand, and the display demonstrates high uniformity of brightness. The company’s engineers have achieved almost complete elimination of creases on the screen, which remains an important user advantage. Although it loses to the Magic V6 in pure battery capacity and the level of protection of the case, the device looks like the most holistic and harmonious solution.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: conservative perfection

Samsung is sticking to a strategy that has been honored over the years. The Z Fold7’s focus is on a software ecosystem that remains the industry’s gold standard: multitasking capabilities, depth of app optimization and long-term update support are still out of reach for many pursuers. Despite the fact that Fold7 is inferior to its Chinese counterparts in charging speed and dimensions, it is its software solutions that provide the smoothest user experience.

Which smartphone to choose?

Choosing the ideal folding device depends on what is more important to you: technological records, ergonomics or software comfort. If you value technology and an ultra-thin body, your path lies with Honor. For those who are looking for a balance of design and visual quality of the screen, Oppo is the choice. And for those who value predictability, stability and better software performance, Samsung still offers the most reliable package. As for the price, Samsung looks like the most attractive offer at the moment, even taking into account the upcoming release of the successor to the series.

In Ukraine, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 now costs from 57 thousand UAH (about $1,275), Honor Magic V6 – about 71 thousand UAH (about $1,590), and Oppo Find N6, which is supplied mainly through unofficial channels, is estimated at about 75-90 thousand UAH (about $1,680-2,015).
