Bigme Hibreak Dual 2: smartphone with two screens - LCD and color E-Ink

Bigme, a well-known manufacturer of e-books, continues to strengthen its position in the niche of specialized mobile devices by announcing the Hibreak Dual 2 smartphone. Unlike standard devices, this gadget is equipped with two full-fledged displays, combining a classic LCD panel and modern E-Ink capabilities, which makes it an extremely interesting solution for fans of electronic ink.

What is Bigme Hibreak Dual 2

Bigme Hibreak Dual 2 is a development of the concept of devices with dual screens. While the first Hibreak Dual model released only offered a secondary LCD screen, the new iteration rethinks the design. Here, both displays have comparable sizes, which significantly increases the practicality of using both interfaces in everyday tasks. The E-Ink color display has a diagonal of 6.13 inches, surpassing the size of a 5-inch LCD screen.

Technical characteristics and capabilities

At the moment, the manufacturer has not disclosed the full list of specifications, but key details are already known. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, which, despite its status as a “not the newest” platform, has a solid performance reserve. The current Android 16 OS was chosen as the software basis. An important feature of the device will be support for a stylus for handwriting input.

Features of design and operation

The main advantage of Hibreak Dual 2 is the synergy of technologies. The user can switch between an energy-efficient E-Ink display, ideal for reading and working in direct sunlight, and a standard LCD screen for interacting with color media content or applications that require fast frame changes.

Is it worth waiting for the release and how to buy

At the moment, Bigme has not announced the exact release date or recommended price. However, it is known that the project is planned to be funded through the Kickstarter platform. There is also a high probability that the device will appear in retail sale on Amazon, as happened with the brand’s previous products.
