Android 14 for TVs has become faster, more stable and has a picture-in-picture mode

Android TV and Google TV boxes remain popular ways to add smart features and streaming services to a regular TV. Although the development of this platform is usually slower than that of Android for smartphones, Google has not forgotten about it and at the I/O conference it introduced Android 14 for TV.

The company has offered a number of new features and settings in the updated operating system. Google says Android 14 for TV is “faster and more responsive” than previous versions. This is an important improvement given the stuttering and stuttering issues that some streaming devices experience, especially those with limited RAM.

In addition, new energy saving modes are offered. There are now three different power saving modes available, which are determined based on network functions.

Google is also expanding accessibility options, including color correction, “enhanced” text options and “improved” navigation. The new version of the software also allows app developers to prevent content from playing when the TV’s input signal is switched or the TV is turned off.

Finally, Android 14 for TV includes picture-in-picture support for compatible TV models. Details about the feature, such as supported apps or hardware requirements, have not yet been revealed. However, it can be assumed that it will allow users to continue watching content, such as YouTube or Netflix, while using the home screen or streaming directory of another application.
