A new game set in the Targaryen era is coming: Dragonfire takes players into the age of dragons

The Game of Thrones franchise continues to expand beyond the screen. This time, it comes in the form of a mobile game, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, which explores events long before the original series.

A story set before Daenerys

The game is set approximately 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. Players will be taken into the era depicted in House of the Dragon, when Targaryen power was at its peak and dragons remained a key element of political and military dominance.

The project is being developed by Warner Bros. Games Boston. Players take on the role of a character with Valyrian heritage, tasked with gaining influence within the ruling house and raising a personal dragon.

Gameplay and structure

The game is designed as a free-to-play strategy for mobile devices. Campaigns are divided into time-limited stages and are expected to last around eight weeks, following the structure typical of modern live-service mobile games.

Gameplay includes developing settlements, conducting sieges, commanding armies, and interacting with other players. Both PvE and PvP battles are featured. A central gameplay element is raising dragons and using them in combat.

Launch and availability

Pre-registration is already open on the App Store, Google Play, and the official website. In some regions, the game is currently available in early access, where core mechanics are being tested.
