Xiaomi Mijia Multi-directional Sweeping Pro: “smart” toothbrush with motion sensors and adaptive cleaning

Xiaomi continues to expand the ecosystem of household devices, gradually turning even dental care into a technologically rich process. The new Mijia Multi-Directional Sweeping Electric Toothbrush Pro model appeared on the Youpin platform and is valued at approximately $80 (about UAH 3,500). For this money, the user is offered not just an electric brush, but a device with a motion tracking system and pressure force adaptation.

Adaptive cleaning and gum protection

The key feature of the model is a multi-vector vibration drive with a design based on two degrees of freedom. Simply put, the nozzle moves not only back and forth, but also adapts to the angle and topography of the tooth row, adapting to the user’s technique.

The brush can automatically reduce the intensity if it detects excessive pressure. This reduces the risk of trauma to the gums – especially for those who are used to brushing their teeth “with effort”, striving for the smoothest possible sensation.

Gyroscope and real-time cleaning quality control

A six-coordinate sensor system is responsible for the analysis of movements – a combination of a gyroscope and an accelerometer. It tracks the position of the brush in space and evaluates which areas of the mouth have not been processed thoroughly enough.

In practice, this turns into a feedback system: the device can signal missed areas and uneven brushing, actually forming a personal “audit” of oral hygiene after each procedure.

Design, attachments and working with the application

The body of the brush is made with a soft rubberized coating, which improves grip with the hand in a wet environment. The set includes different types of nozzles: standard for daily use, soft for sensitive teeth and a variant with a whitening effect.

Like most Xiaomi devices, the model integrates with the Mi Home program. Through it, you can change the operating modes, monitor the wear of the nozzle and view reports on the quality of cleaning. Formally, this increases control over the process, although practically most users are limited to basic settings after the first connection.

As a result, Mijia Multi-directional Sweeping Pro is an example of how a common household tool turns into a smart device with elements of user behavior analysis, albeit with a rather pragmatic goal: to brush teeth a little more accurately than usual.
