29.06.26
Xiaomi is preparing to launch its first network-attached storage (NAS), which is scheduled to go on sale in China on July 1, 2026. Although the design of the device was previously officially revealed, the specifications remained a secret until data from an engineering sample appeared online.
What is known about the Xiaomi NAS hardware platform
According to leaked data, the device is based on a quad-core Realtek RTD1619B processor – the same solution is used in the popular Synology DS223j systems. In the engineering prototype, the chip is supplemented with 2 GB of 2 GB of DDR3L RAM and 8 GB of internal storage for system needs.

Characteristics and configurations
The drive has two bays that support HDD/SSD with a total capacity of up to 40 TB. In terms of connectors, a Gigabit Ethernet port is reported, but experts expect at least one 2.5GbE port in the final retail version. The system supports installation of both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives.
How much does the new NAS from Xiaomi cost
The company announced three configuration options for the volume of built-in storage: 4 TB, 8 TB and 16 TB. The initial configuration will cost users 13,170 UAH ($338) at the stage of the crowdfunding campaign.
Who is the new Xiaomi NAS aimed at?
The new product is aimed at those who are looking for an affordable and stylish solution for creating a home cloud. Thanks to cross-platform software support and flexible volume configuration, this device can become a serious competitor to entry-level models from A-brands in the budget segment.
