The legendary Motorola DynaTAC 8000X is back: meet the stylish power bank with walkie-talkie function

More than 40 years after the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X debuted as the world’s first commercial mobile phone, this iconic device has been given a new lease of life. The Trozk brand presented the Cellular Power Bank – a portable charger that repeats the design of that same retro brick to the smallest detail.

Overview and functionality

Trozk Cellular Power Bank is not only an image accessory for fans of retro technology, but also a high-tech gadget. With a battery capacity of 20,000 mAh, the device hides four EV-grade batteries inside. But the main feature is the built-in support for the walkie-talkie function and voice recorder, which turns the power bank into an unusual means of communication, of course, if you have two such models.

Technical characteristics and power

The gadget provides a peak output power of up to 165 W and supports the Power Delivery 3.1 standard, which makes it easy to charge power-hungry laptops such as the MacBook Pro, as well as Steam Deck and tablets. Three connectors are available to users: two USB-C and one USB-A.

Output power distribution diagram

Usage mode Maximum power
One USB-C port 100 W
Both USB-C ports at the same time 165 W
USB-A port 30 W
Three devices simultaneously 108 W
One USB-C + USB-A 130 W

Design features

The case is equipped with an LED display to display the charge level. There is a speaker above the screen, and below it there is a row of backlit buttons to control the walkie-talkie mode. There is a microphone on the bottom edge, and a removable antenna on the top, complementing the recognizable DynaTAC silhouette.

Cost

Currently, there is a discount on the manufacturer’s official website: the power bank can be purchased for 3,465 UAH ($89), instead of the standard price of 5,800 UAH ($149). Trozk is also developing a series of retro gadgets: the range includes a power bank in the form of a floppy disk with support for MagSafe and a microSD card, as well as models in the design of pagers capable of exchanging messages.

Is Trozk Cellular Power Bank worth buying?

The device should definitely be considered as a gift or an original accessory that will definitely stand out against the background of similar batteries. The combination of powerful charging performance (up to 165 W) and unusual features makes it not just a souvenir, but a functional work tool.
