Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 7: an ultra-light business convertible with Intel and AMD options

Lenovo has unveiled the latest generation of its compact business device — Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 7. The updated model retains the signature reliability of the ThinkPad lineup while becoming significantly lighter and adopting modern hardware platforms with a focus on AI-driven workloads.

2-in-1 form factor for flexible use

The device features a convertible design: it can function as a Windows tablet or transform into a full-fledged laptop when paired with a keyboard. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of scenarios, from mobile productivity to office tasks.

Such hybrid solutions remain highly sought after by users who value both mobility and functionality.

Record-breaking lightweight design

One of the standout improvements is the device’s weight. In its base configuration, Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 weighs just 936 grams, making it the lightest model in the series to date.

Engineers managed to push the weight below the 1 kg mark without compromising structural durability — a key factor for business users.

New hardware: Intel and AMD platforms

Lenovo offers two platform options to suit different needs:

  • The Intel version features Core Ultra 300 (Panther Lake) processors, designed for improved energy efficiency and enhanced AI performance via a dedicated NPU.
  • The AMD configuration is powered by Ryzen AI Pro 400 chips, known for strong multi-threaded performance and capable integrated graphics.

This flexibility allows users to tailor the device to specific workloads.

Display, battery, and connectivity

The laptop is equipped with a 13.3-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, ideal for productivity and multitasking.

Despite its compact size, the device includes a full set of essential ports, such as Thunderbolt 4 (on Intel models) and HDMI. Optional 4G LTE and 5G modules are available for users who need constant connectivity on the go.

Users can also choose between two battery options: a 41 Wh unit or a larger 54.7 Wh battery.

Availability and pricing

Intel-based versions are expected to launch in mid-May 2026, while AMD configurations will follow toward the end of the month.

Pricing is expected to remain within the premium segment, with high-end configurations starting at around $2000. Final regional pricing will be announced closer to release.
