iQOO 16 Specs Surface: 165Hz Display and Snapdragon Elite Power

The upcoming iQOO 16 flagship is preparing a series of significant upgrades over its predecessor. According to fresh data from well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, the new model focuses heavily on performance and display capabilities.

What to Expect from the iQOO 16 Display

The smartphone will feature a flat 6.85-inch 2K display from Samsung. The main improvement is the refresh rate, which will hit 165Hz. For comparison, last year’s iQOO 15 was equipped with a 6.85-inch panel running at 144Hz.

Performance and Technical Specifications

The iQOO 16 will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975) processor. The device will also include:

  • An 8500mAh battery;
  • 100W wired charging and wireless charging support;
  • USB 3.2 interface;
  • Dual symmetrical speakers (1115 series);
  • X-axis vibration motor (0916 series).

Design Features and Cameras

According to leaks, the exterior will see minimal changes to the chassis shape and bezels, though the back panel will be refreshed. The main camera module will become more compact, adopt a square shape, and move to the top-left corner. The insider clarified that the model will not include a built-in cooling fan. However, the primary sensor will be the 50MP OmniVision OV50Q.

Additional Features

The smartphone will be equipped with an under-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a dedicated graphics chip (possibly the Supercomputing Chip Q4), and IP68/69 dust and water resistance.

Release Date

According to preliminary forecasts, the official iQOO 16 presentation is scheduled for September.
