Google Chrome gets enhanced autofill and tight integration with Google Wallet
24.06.26
Google Chrome has announced an important update for mobile versions of the browser on Android and iOS. The developers paid special attention to the autofill function, which has become much smarter, and expanded the possibilities of interaction with the Google Wallet payment service on both mobile devices and desktop computers.
What’s new in Chrome’s autofill feature
The updated autofill system in Google Chrome is designed to reduce the time users spend entering data in standard forms. Now the browser has become more efficient at handling routine tasks such as checking in for flights or paying for parking, offering the necessary data automatically.
Integration with Google Wallet: what you can fill in
A key innovation is deeper integration with Google Wallet. Users can now store and automatically paste into browser fields:
- Driver’s license details.
- Information from your passport.
- Known Traveler Number.
If you don’t already have your data saved in Google Wallet, Chrome will prompt you to add it as you enter it into the form. The next time you use it, the browser itself will substitute the saved information.
Security and data management
Google emphasizes that all operations strictly occur at the user’s request: the browser does not save or fill in data without appropriate permission. All sensitive information is securely encrypted. To control and edit saved parameters, there is a special section in the settings: “Autofill and passwords”.
