Acer announced the Sospiro A15 smartphone: unusual design and a second screen on the rear panel

Acer has officially introduced the Acer Sospiro A15 smartphone, aimed at the Latin American market. The key feature of the new product is the additional an auxiliary display located on the back of the case, which is a rather rare solution for the budget device segment.

On the front of the device there is a 6.67-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The main feature is the rear 1.88-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 240 x 284 pixels. The user can use it to view notifications, control music playback, and as a viewfinder for the main camera when taking selfies with a high-quality sensor.

The hardware is built on the entry-level Unisoc T615 chipset, which supports non-5G networks. The smartphone is equipped with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. An important advantage is support for microSD memory cards up to 1 TB.

The 8.35 mm thick body weighs 206 grams and is available in two color options: orange (Naranja Vibrante) and blue (Azul Profundo). The device has received IP64 certification for protection against dust and water, as well as a fingerprint scanner built into the side. There is an NFC module and a classic 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Price and availability

At the moment, there is no information on the cost of the Acer Sospiro A15 smartphone. Let us remind you that on foreign trading platforms the price of similar drives that are used in this smartphone, for example, a 128 GB SanDisk microSD memory card, is approximately 1,400 hryvnia ($34.99). One can only guess how much the entire smartphone will cost. The release of the model to other markets except Latin America has not yet been announced.

How attractive is the Acer Sospiro A15?

The smartphone is suitable for those who are looking for a device with interesting visual capabilities and good functionality (IP64 protection, 120 Hz screen). However, it is worth considering the use of a base chipset without support for 5G networks. The purchase will be justified subject to the budget positioning of the model.
