Total War: Warhammer III Drops Massive DLC That Lets You Skip the Base Game

Total War: Warhammer III drops the biggest DLC in series history: the end of the world without the main game

Developers from SEGA and Creative Assembly have officially confirmed that the Lords of the End Times expansion for the Total War: Warhammer III strategy game will launch on September 24. This release is positioned as the most extensive expansion in the ten-year history of the entire Total War series.

What Is Included in the New Content

The DLC adds four new legendary lords representing different factions:

  • Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead, leading the new Legions of Undead faction;
  • Boris Todbringer for the Empire;
  • The Glottkin for the Warriors of Chaos;
  • Thanquol for the Skaven.

Each lord comes with a unique roster of units. Players will gain access to units such as the Khemrian Titan, demonic Verminlords, Putrid Blightkings, and the Celestial Hurricanum.

Immortal Empires Access for Everyone

The most significant innovation concerns the sales model: purchasing Lords of the End Times unlocks the massive Immortal Empires campaign even for those who do not own the base Total War: Warhammer game. This makes the expansion an ideal entry point for newcomers.

Pricing and Purchase Options

Steam pricing is set as follows:

Package Price
Single Lord Pack $8.99 (€8.99 (368.59 UAH))
Full Set (Individual) $35.96 (€35.96 (1474.36 UAH))
Full Set (Bundle) $30.56 (€30.56 (1252.96 UAH))

A 15% automatic discount is applied when purchasing the full set as a single bundle.

Free Update

In addition to paid content, the studio is releasing one of the largest free updates in the project’s history. The game will add Neferata, the Vampire Queen, as a legendary lord, and will rebalance the Vampire Counts faction and Archaon the Everchosen. Players can also look forward to new end-game scenarios and reworked victory conditions for existing characters.

Expectations and Future Outlook

Development on this expansion began in December 2025 during the stream celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary. The arrival of Nagash is a response to years of community requests—fans have long awaited a character worthy of the epic finale to the Warhammer Fantasy story. Currently, Creative Assembly is also working on Total War: Warhammer 40,000, Total War: Medieval III, and Alien: Isolation 2.
