The design of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8 has been revealed: a detailed analysis before the premiere
01.07.26
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored to take place on July 22 in London, promises to be a landmark event for the foldable device market. Although there is no official confirmation from the company yet, data from the WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) and new leaks give a clear idea of the upcoming new products.
Design and line of new devices
According to the case designs obtained from WPC, you can imagine what the three new models will look like. In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip8 and the base Galaxy Z Fold8, users will be presented with the top-end Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. It is noteworthy that the Ultra version is intended to replace last year’s Galaxy Z Fold7, despite the name change.

Features of the Fold8 form factor
The main intriguing element is the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. It has already received the unofficial nickname ‘Wide Fold’ online. Its size and form factor should be a major competitive advantage over other ultra-premium foldable devices. The published images of the cases confirm the specific contours of the devices, which will differ from the current line standards.
Charging support and important nuance
One of the important technical nuances is the issue of wireless charging. Leaks from WPC resources directly indicate that the cases of the new products themselves do not have built-in magnetic systems for native support of the Qi2 standard. This means that users who want to use magnetic charging will have to resort to specialized cases similar to those shown in the latest renders.

Release date and price
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is expected on July 22, 2026 in London. Although the cost of the new products has not yet been officially announced, as a guide, we note that the current Galaxy Z Fold7 models are now available on the market at a price of about 72,000 UAH ($1,799).
