At first glance, this raises questions, because we are looking at an almost complete copy of last year’s model. But does this really mean stagnation, or is there something more hidden in such “modesty”?

Even for a brand accustomed to the motto “Never settle for less,” such a release looks atypical. While competitors are actively experimenting with biometric sensors and satellite communications, OnePlus is choosing a seemingly familiar path in the retail segment, slightly changing the product packaging. It is noteworthy that even the color schemes remained the same, only receiving new, more euphonious names: instead of “Obsidian” and “Emerald”, “Midnight Titan” and “Evergreen Titan” are now presented. The screen size, resolution, battery capacity and set of sensors for health monitoring have not changed. The only significant additions are IP69 certification, meaning improved protection against hot water under pressure, and the maximum screen brightness has increased slightly. These improvements, although nice, are unlikely to be a decisive argument for upgrading the gadget.

Despite the seeming lack of innovation, it’s too early to write off the OnePlus Watch 4. Previous models of this brand have proven themselves to be devices with exceptional autonomy, and the new product has inherited this key advantage.

With intensive use, the gadget can work for up to three days, in standard mode – up to five days, and in economy mode, the charge will last for an impressive 16 days. By the standards of Wear OS smartwatches, these are outstanding performances that make most competitors, including the Apple Watch, look significantly weaker. Maintaining a superb OLED display, a full range of health tracking features, and a premium titanium case and sapphire crystal make the OnePlus Watch 4 an extremely durable and attractive device, especially if it’s priced right.

How much will OnePlus Watch 4 cost?

The manufacturer has not yet officially announced the exact prices for the OnePlus Watch 4, but you can make educated guesses based on the cost of the previous model and market trends.

The previous model started at around $350 (approximately 13,650 UAH). Considering the general increase in prices for electronics, we can expect that the new product may rise in price to $380 (approximately 14,820 UAH) or even up to $400 (15,600 UAH). This increase seems quite logical. Crisis of ideas or polished perfection?

The release of OnePlus Watch 4 suggests that the wearable electronics market has reached a plateau. This watch seems like a monument to the fact that the perfect smart device already exists, and there is essentially nothing to improve on it. Why change the processor if the Snapdragon W5 does the job perfectly? Why increase the battery capacity if the gadget already works for a week?

The manufacturer switched from chasing technology to finely polishing the design and improving the user experience. When the difference between generations is measured in millimeters and grams, this is a clear signal to the consumer: there is no need to chase every new product. We are no longer sold features; They sell us a feeling of lightness and comfort. Perhaps this is the real maturity of the market, where revolutions are replaced by calm and high-quality evolution.
