LG UltraGear evo GM9 available for pre-order: 5K gaming with Mini LED and flexible refresh rate

LG has opened pre-orders for the new LG UltraGear evo GM9 gaming monitor, which was first shown at CES 2026. The novelty bets on high 5K resolution, Mini LED lighting and intelligent image processing functions, offering an alternative to the OLED solutions in the G line.

Screen and technology: bet on brightness and backlight control

The monitor is equipped with a 27-inch panel with a resolution of 5120×2880 pixels, which corresponds to the 5K format. The peak brightness reaches 1250 nits, and the local dimming system includes 2304 zones, which allows you to more precisely control the backlight and increase the contrast.

Hyper Mini LED technology is the basis, aimed at reducing the effect of halos around bright objects and more accurately rendering dark areas of the image. Unlike OLED models of the same series, here the emphasis is on high brightness and stable operation without the risk of burnout.

Dual Mode and performance: balance between clarity and speed

Dual Mode became one of the key features. The user can choose between maximum image quality and increased refresh rate:

  • 5K-resolution at 165 Hz for a detailed picture
  • reduced resolution (1140p) with a frequency of up to 330 Hz for eSports tasks

In addition, the monitor supports NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium technologies, which reduce frame gaps and make the image smoother.

AI Features and Connectivity: Versatility for Different Tasks

LG has added a number of intelligent functions, including AI Scene Optimization – a system for automatically adjusting the image depending on the content, and AI Sound – sound optimization algorithms.

In terms of interfaces, the monitor received modern ports: DisplayPort 2.1 and USB-C with support for Power Delivery up to 90 W, which allows you to use it not only with gaming PCs, but also with laptops.

Price and availability

In the US, the LG UltraGear evo GM9 is already available for order at a price of $1,200. The model will arrive in other markets later in the year, expanding the line of devices aimed at users who value the balance between high resolution and maximum refresh rate.
