According to industry analysts, by June 2026, the total volume of sold devices of the line will reach 6.49 million units. This result allowed the company to maintain its leadership among smartphone manufacturers in China and strengthen its position in the premium segment.

Additional impetus to sales was provided by steady demand at the end of spring. In a few weeks, Huawei was able to sell about 200,000 devices, which became one of the best indicators among all manufacturers represented in the country’s domestic market. Experts associate this dynamic with the high interest of buyers in the flagship series and further strengthening of the brand ecosystem.

Competition with Apple is getting tougher

Against the background of Mate 80’s success, the balance of power among the biggest market players has noticeably changed. According to the latest estimates, Huawei’s share of the Chinese smartphone market has reached 20.7%, while Apple ranks second with 19.4%.

Despite stable sales of current iPhone models, the American company faces growing competition from local manufacturers. Huawei is gradually increasing its presence in almost all price categories, which allows the brand to more effectively retain users within its own ecosystem.

Analysts note that Chinese buyers increasingly prefer devices of national brands. Against this background, the flagship Mate 80 series has become one of the key factors in strengthening Huawei’s position in the fight for leadership in the domestic market.

A bet on the ecosystem and a wide range of models

The success of the Mate 80 is not the only driver of the company’s growth. Huawei continues to develop several product lines at once, covering different categories of users.

While the Mate series is focused on the premium segment, the Nova family of devices actively compete in the middle price range and attract a younger audience. At the same time, the company is expanding its presence due to the models of the Pura line, which occupy a prominent place in the manufacturer’s assortment.

Such a strategy allows Huawei to reach a wide range of customers and maintain a high level of market presence. As a result, the company gets a permanent advantage due to several popular series of smartphones at once, rather than one successful flagship.

Huawei continues to increase influence in the domestic market

The rise in sales of the Mate 80 series has become one of the most notable developments in the Chinese smartphone market in 2026. The company not only maintained its leadership in terms of market share, but was also able to increase the gap from its closest competitors thanks to its strong positions in the premium segment and the development of its own ecosystem of devices.

Against the background of increased competition between international and Chinese manufacturers, the domestic market remains the main source of growth for Huawei. Judging by current sales figures, the Mate 80 series has been one of the key factors behind this success.
