Huawei has defeated Apple in China: over 25% of the market compared to 13% for iPhone
18.05.26
Huawei shows incredible growth in its home market in 2026. While the world’s experts argue about the competitiveness of the iPhone 17, the Chinese technology giant takes more than 25% of sales for itself. According to the data for the 19th week of 2026 (the period from May 4 to 10), Huawei is confidently in the lead, leaving almost no chance for Western and local competitors.
The indicators of this period became an alarming signal for Apple. Huawei’s share in the Chinese smartphone market was a significant 25.55%. This means that a quarter of all devices sold in China are produced by this brand. For comparison, Apple now occupies only 13.08%. Unbelievable, but a fact.
| Brand | Market share (%) |
| Huawei | 25.55% |
| Oppo (including OnePlus and realme) | 15.83% |
| Vivo (including iQOO) | 15.62% |
| Xiaomi (including Redmi) | 14.49% |
| Apple (iPhone) | 13.08% |
Popular Huawei Pura 90 Pro
The flagship Huawei Pura 90 Pro was the key driver of growth. The device managed to create a halo of technological excellence around itself, which turned out to be stronger than Apple’s marketing tools. Chinese users prefer their own Kirin processors and innovative camera systems.

Consumers are choosing the Pura 90 Pro for its unique balance of performance and mobile photography capabilities, ignoring the iPhone 17, which many see as a catch-up product with a conservative approach to design and technology.
Triumph of the Enjoy 90 series
Pressure on competitors occurs in all directions. If the Pura series leads the top league, then the Enjoy 90 line dominates the mass segment. The Enjoy 90 Pro Max modification was particularly successful, outselling all iPhone 17 models in terms of sales. This indicates a paradigm shift: buyers in China are increasingly choosing.
Differences and position of competitors: Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi
Huawei’s closest pursuers – Oppo and Vivo – are still keeping a distance from each other, but are significantly behind the leader. Oppo with sub-brands OnePlus and realme holds 15.83% of the market. Vivo (with iQOO) closes the top three with 15.62%. Xiaomi is in the fourth position with 14.49%. Apple and Honor close the ranking of leaders.
