Google Gemini has learned to create images based on user input
03.07.26
Google has expanded the functionality of its Gemini chatbot by offering free access to a personalized image generation tool. Previously, this option was exclusively the prerogative of paid Gemini Plus, Pro and Ultra plans.
How personalization works in Gemini
The new function is based on the Nano Banana model and uses the capabilities of the Personal Intelligence system. Unlike standard image generators that require detailed text prompts, Gemini can now take into account the context of the account owner’s interests. AI automatically analyzes information from connected Google services: Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube and Google Search.
Key benefits and use cases
Users don’t need to enter long descriptions. It is enough to use general requests, for example: “Create an illustration with my favorite things.” The system interprets this request on its own, pulling visual data from your Google Photos or YouTube likes. Photos from the Google Photos library are used directly – no need to download them manually.
The functionality of Personal Intelligence works according to the opt-in model, which means full control by the user. You independently choose which Google services to allow the neural network to access. Access is controlled through the Tools menu, where you can disable integration or change privacy settings at any time.
At the current stage, the feature is only available to users in the US. Google currently does not provide specific dates for the appearance of this feature in other countries of the world.
