Vivo Y600 Turbo combines Snapdragon, IP69 and a giant battery

Vivo Y600 Turbo

It seems that Vivo decided to finally abandon the idea of daily charging of smartphones. Even before the official announcement, the new Vivo Y600 Turbo attracted attention with one characteristic – a battery with a capacity of 9000 mAh. Against the background of modern devices with 5000-6000 mAh batteries, the novelty looks almost like a compact power plant with an AMOLED screen.

9000 mAh – a new level of autonomy

The main feature of the model was a 9000 mAh Blue Ocean battery. For a mass smartphone, this is an extremely unusual indicator: such batteries are usually found either in protected armored phones or in niche devices with extreme autonomy.

Vivo claims that it used a new architecture of power cells with increased energy density, thanks to which it was possible to avoid an overly powerful body. The company is betting on users for whom maximum autonomy is more important than the record thinness of the device.

Judging by the positioning, the Y600 Turbo is designed for scenarios where the smartphone must live for several days without an outlet: traveling, business trips, mobile gaming, working “in the field” or simply refusing constant charging.

Snapdragon instead of the usual MediaTek

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is installed inside – not the most flagship, but a fairly balanced mid-level chip. It is interesting that Vivo chose the Qualcomm platform, although the company often uses MediaTek solutions in this segment.

This choice may be related to Snapdragon’s energy efficiency and better optimization for long battery life. The processor performance should be enough for most everyday tasks, multitasking and modern games at medium-high settings without serious overheating.

Unkillable level protection

The smartphone received IP68 and IP69 certification. This means protection not only from immersion in water, but also from the action of hot jets under high pressure. In fact, Vivo positions the device as the most durable smartphone for an aggressive operating environment.

This level of protection is usually found either in expensive flagships or specialized protected models. In combination with a giant battery, the Y600 Turbo looks like a device for those who are used to using a smartphone in an extreme mode.

Design and positioning

Externally, the smartphone resembles models of the iQOO line – which is not surprising, given the connection of brands within the Vivo ecosystem. This is especially noticeable regarding the design of the camera block.

So far, the company has revealed only part of the specifications. A full-fledged presentation will take place this week, then prices and memory configurations will be known. But it is already clear that the Vivo Y600 Turbo is aimed at the “long-lasting” smartphone market, which is traditionally dominated by Redmi Note and various ultra-battery models of Chinese brands.

If Vivo manages to keep the price down, the device could well become one of the most unusual mid-range smartphones in 2026.
