Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra: new folding smartphones spotted in retail before the announcement
11.07.26
The official premiere of Samsung’s new foldable devices is scheduled for July 22, 2026. Ahead of this event, the lineup consisting of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 was captured in live footage for the first time. Reddit user GalaxyNote7Recalled captured all three smartphones on display at a Samsung retail store in South Korea.
What is known about the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
The design is completely consistent with earlier leaks. One interesting detail that catches your eye is the black stripe at the center of the hinge of the base Galaxy Z Fold 8. The new standard model offers an interesting mix of displays: a 5.4-inch external screen and a main 7.8-inch flexible display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Technical characteristics and features of models
The key advantage of the entire series will be the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. If you choose the standard version, it is worth considering that it is equipped with two rear cameras and a smaller battery compared to the Ultra model. The flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra benefits from larger display diagonals and the presence of an additional telephoto lens in the camera system.
Prices and options
Price positioning reflects the difference in device class. Prices for the European market will approximately look like this:
Prices for new Galaxy Z series
| Model | Price in euros | Price in hryvnia (in dollars) |
| Galaxy Z Fold 8 (256 GB) | €1,999 | 86,900 UAH ($2,120) |
| Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra | €2,199 | 95,600 UAH ($2,332) |
| Galaxy Z Flip 8 | €1,299 | 56,500 UAH ($1,378) |
It’s important to note that the Flip 8 model in Europe will likely come with Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chip. As for the colors captured in store, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes in a light blue colorway, while the Ultra and Flip 8 versions are shown off in a crisp black finish.
Waiting for release
The Fold 8 series is clearly aimed at audience segmentation. The base Fold 8 will be an interesting experiment with a new form factor, while the Ultra will offer the maximum set of features for enthusiasts. With the date approaching July 22, 2026, we won’t have long to wait for answers to the remaining questions.
