Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Review: Is It Worth Buying?

Samsung Galaxy A27 5G review: stylish display and new hardware platform

Samsung introduced the Galaxy A27 5G, which became an evolutionary development of the popular Galaxy A26 model. The device focuses on improving the design, offering more modern visual solutions while maintaining reliable core functionality.

Samsung Galaxy A27 5G design and display

The main visual change was the integration of the front camera. Instead of the outdated waterdrop notch, Samsung has implemented a neat Infinity-O hole. In addition, the frames around the screen have become thinner, which makes the device look more modern. The smartphone has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, ensuring high smooth operation.

Hardware and performance

The heart of the new product is the 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Compared to the 5nm Exynos 1380 processor installed in the Galaxy A26, the performance increase is 10–20%. This guarantees users a more responsive interface and stable performance in applications.

Autonomy, camera and security

The smartphone is equipped with the same 5000 mAh battery with support for 25-watt charging as the previous Galaxy A26 model. The camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical stabilization (OIS), a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front panel there is a 12-megapixel selfie camera. An important nuance: the device’s protection complies with the IP64 standard (splash protection), which is inferior to the IP67 rating of its predecessor.

Release date, prices and memory configurations

Sales of the smartphone will start on July 3. The model will be available in Black, Blue, Light Green and Light Pink colors. Buyers will be able to choose one of the memory options: 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB or 8/256 GB. Information on retail prices will be announced later.

Support and updates

Samsung continues to commit to long-term support for its devices, promising six years of Android OS updates for the Galaxy A27 5G, as well as six years of security patches.

Expert opinion

According to the available specifications, the Galaxy A27 5G is not much different from the previous model Samsung Galaxy A26 5G, which is now available in retail in Ukraine.  At least not enough to force A26 5G owners to rush to upgrade. And yes;t a 10% increase in performance is not very impressive, since it will not be particularly noticeable for most tasks.

We need to see what price tag Samsung will set for this smartphone. There are two possible scenarios:

  • the price is set higher than that of similar configurations Galaxy A26 5G
  • the price of the new model becomes the same as it was on the earlier model, and the price of the predecessor is lowered or discounts are established on it

In any of these options, it would be preferable to buy the previous model, since you will get almost the same characteristics for less money.
