Oppo K15 turned out to be an unusual mid-range smartphone with active cooling
25.07.26
The Oppo company presented a new smartphone K15, which stands out at once with several unusual solutions for the middle price segment. The manufacturer emphasized not the minimum thickness of the case or design experiments, but the autonomy, cooling system and security of the device. As a result, the novelty received a battery with a capacity of 8000 mAh, a built-in fan and protection IP69 housing – characteristics that are most often found either in protected models or in gaming smartphones.
AMOLED display and modern hardware platform

Oppo K15 is equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The maximum brightness reaches 1200 nits, which should ensure comfortable operation with the device even in bright sunlight. The fingerprint scanner is integrated directly under the screen.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super processor, which belongs to the middle segment, is responsible for performance. The smartphone comes in a configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage, and the company has not provided for simpler versions. The device is running Android 16.
The built-in fan became one of the main features of the device

One of the most unusual elements of the Oppo K15 was the active cooling system. The manufacturer built a compact fan into the case, the task of which is to reduce the temperature of the processor during long-term loads.
So far, similar solutions have been found mainly in gaming smartphones, where it is important to maintain high performance for a long time. Thanks to active cooling, the chip can work longer at maximum frequencies without noticeable throttling, which is especially relevant when running demanding games, long video recording or other resource-intensive usage scenarios.
For mid-range models, this design remains a rarity.
Autonomy and cameras
Another key feature of the smartphone was the 8000 mAh battery. This significantly exceeds the standard indicators of modern devices, which are often equipped with 5000-6000 mAh batteries.
According to the manufacturer’s calculations, such a reserve of energy allows you to use the smartphone for several days without recharging under moderate load. At the same time, Oppo did not sacrifice the speed of charge recovery – the device supports wired charging with a power of 80 W, thanks to which you can fill the battery charge faster than you can expect with such a battery capacity.
The main camera of the smartphone includes two sensors of 50 MP each, and the front camera also received a resolution of 50 MP.
Communication capabilities include support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC for contactless payment and an IR port that allows you to use a smartphone as a remote control for household appliances.
The housing is IP69 protected
Oppo K15 received IP69 protection, which provides not only resistance to dust and water, but also the ability to withstand the effects of hot water jets under high pressure.
This level of protection is much less common than traditional IP67 or IP68 and is aimed at using the device in more difficult operating conditions. The manufacturer positions the smartphone as a model capable of working not only in the urban environment, but also on trips, on construction sites or in other conditions where electronics are subjected to increased loads.
Price

In the Chinese market, the Oppo K15 has been priced at 2,300 yuan, which is approximately 340 US dollars. So far, the company has not announced when the device will appear in other markets.
