OnePlus 16 Leaks Surface: Base Model Returns as High-End Powerhouse

OnePlus officially confirmed it is working on the new OnePlus 16 flagship during the Snapdragon Gaming Technology Awards in China. While the company is keeping details under wraps, insider @OnePlusClub on X has revealed the likely pricing for the device’s configurations.

OnePlus 16 Pricing and Memory Versions

The biggest surprise is the return of the entry-level model with 8GB of RAM, a configuration not seen since the OnePlus 11. According to the leak, the starting price in China will be 4999 yuan (~$740 / ~€703 / ~32,460 UAH).

Expected OnePlus 16 Configurations

Version (RAM/ROM) Price in CNY Price in USD Price in EUR/UAH
8GB / 256GB 4999 ~740 ~703 (32,460 UAH)
12GB / 256GB 5499 ~815 ~775 (35,776 UAH)

It is worth noting that the 16GB RAM / 1TB storage model is planned as a limited edition. Additionally, according to the source, there will be no 24GB RAM version in the lineup.

Technical Specifications and Features

Leaks indicate that the device will be powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, built on a 2nm process. The flagship is expected to feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a “1.5K” resolution and a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz. An impressive 9000 mAh battery promises significant battery life.

Photography capabilities will be handled by an advanced camera setup:

  • 200 MP main sensor
  • 50 MP ultra-wide lens
  • 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom

No Global Release!

The availability of the OnePlus 16 outside of China remains in question. It has been officially confirmed that OnePlus is stopping the release of new products for North American and European markets. India, formerly a key region for the brand, may also skip the launch according to the latest data, despite the presence of budget-friendly models like the OnePlus N6x in the country. It is recommended to treat this information with caution as it remains based on preliminary leaks.
