Lenovo Legion Y70 (2026): gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and three-layer cooling is ready for release
07.05.26
The Lenovo company is preparing for the release of Lenovo Legion Y70 – a new generation of gaming smartphone, in which the main emphasis is not on external “gamer” aggression, but on stable performance under load. The device returns the Legion line to the segment of gaming solutions after a hiatus of several years.
Performance without dips
The smartphone is based on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This is not the top Elite version, but the chip is one of the most powerful solutions of its generation and is aimed at stable work in resource-intensive tasks.
To unlock the potential of the platform, Lenovo is betting on an advanced cooling system. The smartphone uses a three-layer thermal architecture with a large evaporation chamber with an area of about 5500 mm². This solution is designed for long gaming sessions without noticeable throttling and overheating of the case.
Display for dynamic games
The device is equipped with a 6.8-inch flat screen with a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The matrix type is not officially specified, but the use of OLED technology is assumed.
The combination of high definition and increased hertz makes the smartphone oriented towards fast games, where not only the picture is important, but also the minimum response delay.
High-level autonomy
One of the key elements of the Lenovo Legion Y70 will be a battery with a capacity of 8000 mAh. This indicator significantly exceeds the standard values in the class and is designed for long gaming sessions without recharging.
The power system is complemented by a 90 W fast charger, which allows you to quickly fill the charge and reduce the idle time of the device.
Design without excessive demonstrativeness

Outwardly, the smartphone retains the recognizable philosophy of the Legion series, but without the overloaded “gamer” design. It uses a textured glass back panel and an aluminum frame. The device will be available in two colors – black and silver.
Entering the market
The presentation of Legion Y70 (2026) will take place on May 19, 2026 in China and the device will be the first novelty of the updated line after several years of hiatus.
