Keychron K5 Ultra 8K: ultra-thin mechanics with a frequency of 8000 Hz and wooden elements
15.07.26
Keychron has introduced the K5 Ultra 8K, a full-size, low-profile keyboard that combines modern gaming technology and premium design. The device is distinguished by a high polling frequency and wide customization options.
Design features and materials
The novelty is made in a full-fledged 100% format while maintaining extreme thinness – the height of the case from the front is only 20 mm. The design harmoniously combines the top panel of anodized aluminum, ABS plastic of the bottom cover and premium natural wood accents.
The ergonomics of the keyboard includes an aluminum rotary encoder in the upper right corner. By default, it controls the volume, but it can be reprogrammed to suit the user’s needs. The internal layout provides multi-layer sound insulation using IXPE and EPDM foam for clean and soft sound during printing.

Keycaps made of PBT plastic are supplied in the kit, made by double casting technology, which guarantees durability. Interchangeable caps are provided for work with macOS and Windows.
Technical parameters and autonomy
- 8000 Hz polling frequency: works in wired mode (USB-C) and via a 2.4 GHz wireless channel, minimizing delays.
- Bluetooth 5.2: the possibility of seamless connection to three devices at the same time.
- Autonomy: the battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh provides up to 370 hours of operation (2.4 GHz, RGB illumination is turned off).
Toggle and Customization
The model is equipped with branded Keychron Milk POM low-profile switches (Red linear, Brown and Banana tactile). The switches are made of POM and POK materials and are pre-lubricated at the factory.

The printed circuit board supports the hot-swap function, which allows you to change the switches without a soldering iron. The device operates on open ZMK firmware, and control of macros and backlighting is carried out through the Keychron Launcher browser program, which eliminates the need to install software.
Price
Keychron K5 Ultra 8K is presented in classic black color. The cost of the device is UAH 4,370. ($114.99).
