CD Projekt Red has ended support for the game Cyberpunk 2077
18.03.26
Polish studio CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed the end of support for the game Cyberpunk 2077. New additions and expansions for the project are no longer planned.
The statement came amid rumors that arose after the game became available on the Xbox Game Pass service more than five years after its release. Some players assumed that the studio was preparing another major DLC.
Developers deny rumors about a new app
The discussion began under a post on the social network X (Twitter), where the developers announced the release of the game in Game Pass. One of the users asked when to expect the “secret new DLC”.
In response, representatives of CD Projekt Red stated that no additional materials for the game are planned. According to the studio, if the situation changes, the information will be published officially.
Thus, the developers have actually confirmed that the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is complete.
The last major update was Phantom Liberty

The biggest addition to the game was Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, released in September 2019. It added a new storyline, missions, and side quests.
After the release of the DLC, the project received several technical updates. The patches included optimizations, new features, and additional capabilities – for example, the CrystalCoat car painting system and an updated photo mode.
The final update was version 2.3, which was released in July 2025.
The studio is already working on a sequel
Currently, CD Projekt Red is focused on developing a sequel to Cyberpunk. The new project is in the early stages of production.
The studio estimates that a team of 350-500 developers will be needed to make the game. Previously, Cyberpunk creator Michael Pondsmith said that the upcoming game could have a multiplayer mode. He also described the atmosphere of the project as “Chicago gone wrong.”
