ASUS ROG Phantom Blade 20th Anniversaries

ASUS has officially entered the RAM market, presenting its debut kit under the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand. The release of the new product, named ROG Phantom Blade 20th Anniversary Edition, is dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the gaming division. This move puts ASUS in line with Gigabyte, which is already successfully promoting memory modules under the Aorus brand.

The first set of memory from ASU and two modules with a volume of 24 GB each, which gives a total of 48 GB relevant for modern systems. The technical basis of the kit was selected SK hynix M-die chips, which are famous for their potential to work at ultra-high frequencies while maintaining stability.

The development and production of this premium kit was carried out in close cooperation with Biwin. It is worth noting that ASUS is not limited to its own production and is actively developing the ROG certification program: at the moment, 14 partners, including Corsair, Kingston and G. Skill, have the right to produce RAM in the brand’s signature style.

Features and ROG Mode

The main “feature” of the novelty is a special ROG Mode profile. It becomes available exclusively on compatible ASUS motherboards. When this mode is activated, the memory shows an impressive jump in performance: the frequency increases from 6000 MT/s to 8000 MT/s.

The uniqueness of the mode also lies in the optimization of timings (CL36-48-48-110) and voltage. Interestingly, to reach 8000 MT/s the system needs a lower voltage (1.40) than for standard DDR5-6000 mode (1.45). The modules are fully compatible with the Intel XMP and AMD EXPO ecosystems, which ensures simple setup on any platform.

Price and release date

The novelty is positioned as a product of the ultra-premium segment. The retail price of the ASUS ROG Phantom Blade 20th Anniversary Edition is approximately UAH 35,816. ($880). For comparison, the expected price of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti video card will be about UAH 33,740 ($829), which makes this memory kit a more expensive purchase than the flagship graphics accelerator.

The sale of the anniversary set of RAM will start at the end of June. Despite the shortage of components in the global memory market, ASUS is counting on high demand from fans of the ROG series and collectors of rare components.
