A revolution without borders: Tecno is preparing a smartphone with zero display bezels

The race for a completely frameless screen continues. Tecno presented the Next-Gen Borderless Concept Phone concept smartphone, in which the company tried to hide the limits of the display as much as possible, bringing the device closer to the idea of an edge-to-edge screen.one.  The manufacturer claims that the thickness of the frames is 0 mm, which makes the device one of the most futuristic concepts at the moment.

Smartphone concept from Tecno

To date, the Tecno Next-Gen Borderless Concept Phone remains a prototype that demonstrates the capabilities of data display technologies. The company calls the applied concept the industry’s first “zero” frame, which visually completely erases the boundaries between the display and the body of the device.

Features of screen design and technology

Tecno engineers managed to achieve such an effect thanks to a comprehensive approach: the use of an updated method of arranging internal parts, integration of display packaging technology and a radical change in the design of the case. Detailed technical specifications of the matrix itself and the exact metrics by which the frames were measured are currently not being disclosed.

Visual differences from competitors

The manufacturer compares its device with the iPhone 17 Pro. The framework of the prototype really looks as inconspicuous as possible. It is worth noting that in order to ensure the operation of the camera, a functional cutout (hole) for the selfie module is still preserved in the upper part of the screen.

Release date and production plans

The official presentation of the device is scheduled for September 2026 at the IFA 2026 exhibition in Berlin. At the moment, Tecno has not announced the specifications of the smartphone, information about its price or any specific plans for serial production.

At the current stage, the Next-Gen Borderless Concept Phone cannot be considered a consumer product. This is a demonstration of the engineering potential of the brand. It will be possible to assess its prospects only after the company announces the transition from concept to commercial devices and announces the price.
