A display case for the iPhone 17 Pro lets you forget about the front camera
25.03.26
Dockcase has started selling an unusual accessory called Selfix for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The key feature of the case is a built-in secondary display on the back panel of the smartphone. The concept resembles solutions previously seen in certain Android devices, but in this instance it is implemented as a standalone accessory.
An additional screen without extra apps
The Selfix case features a circular 1.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 480 × 480 pixels. The display operates independently and does not require the installation of separate software. According to the manufacturer, the interface responds without noticeable delays. A dedicated power button is included, while charging is handled via a USB-C port with support for the PD 3.0 standard and power delivery of up to 100 W.
Using the main camera instead of the front one
One of the accessory’s core capabilities is the option to use the primary camera system for taking selfies. The rear display allows users to see themselves while shooting, making it possible to avoid using the front camera, which typically offers lower image quality. This approach can improve the level of detail in both photos and videos and is particularly useful not only for everyday shots but also for content creation.
Extra storage built into the case
Another notable feature of Selfix is a built-in microSD card slot supporting capacities of up to 2 TB. Files stored on the card appear in the standard iPhone gallery, allowing users to work with them in the same way as with locally stored photos and videos. For Apple devices, which traditionally do not support expandable storage, this solution is unusual.
Colors and cost

The accessory is available in several colors, including Midnight Black, Oat White, and Blush Pink. The version designed for the iPhone 17 Pro is priced at $80, while the model for the iPhone 17 Pro Max costs $89. The Selfix case can already be ordered via Dockcase’s official website, with purchases processed through the Kickstarter platform.
