Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 Battery Specs Leak: No Capacity Boost Expected

Following the debut of the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is now concentrating on its upcoming generation of foldable devices. However, early technical data regarding the Galaxy Z Flip8 battery components has emerged, and it may disappoint those anticipating a significant power upgrade.

The device will utilize two separate battery cells, model numbers EB-BF776 and EB-BF777, with rated capacities of 1,150mAh and 3,024mAh respectively. This results in a total rated capacity of 4,174mAh. This figure is identical to that of the previous Galaxy Z Flip7, which featured a slightly different internal distribution of 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh.

In marketing materials, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to be listed with a typical capacity of 4,300mAh, mirroring its predecessor. It is important to distinguish between the rated capacity, which is the absolute minimum, and the typical capacity, which represents the average performance across manufacturing batches.

Current industry rumors suggest that Samsung anticipates the Galaxy Z Fold8 will outsell the Z Flip8, marking a historical shift in popularity between the two form factors. Additionally, reports indicate that instead of a Z Flip FE, Samsung may introduce a wider version of the Z Fold, signaling a strategic pivot toward book-style foldables.

The lack of battery improvement is paired with news that the camera system will also remain stagnant. Leaks suggest the Z Flip8 will retain a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, along with a 10MP internal selfie camera. This setup has remained largely unchanged since the Z Flip6, suggesting a slower pace of hardware evolution for the Flip series.
