First Foldable iPhone Ultra: MagSafe Support Details Surface

The upcoming launch of Apple’s first foldable device, rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra, is generating significant buzz ahead of the official event scheduled for September 9. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the new product will be a major competitor in the foldable smartphone market.

MagSafe Support for iPhone Ultra

One of the most discussed topics is the inclusion of MagSafe wireless charging. Previously, mockups and leaked renders failed to show the characteristic magnetic ring on the casing, raising doubts. However, Gurman assures that Apple has successfully integrated this technology, drawing on the successful experience of adapting MagSafe for the ultra-thin iPhone Air. This technical achievement highlights the skill of Apple’s engineers, who maintained functionality while keeping the device at just 4.5 mm thick when unfolded.

Displays and Technical Specifications

The device is expected to feature a complex design with two screens: a 5.5-inch external display and a 7.8-inch main flexible screen. A key feature will be the optimization of the crease on the inner screen, which is reportedly less pronounced than that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. Additionally, the iPhone Ultra will feature a dual main camera, the latest proprietary Apple chipset, and an updated modem. The durability of the structure will be ensured by a modern hinge mechanism, which early testers report is impressive in its ergonomics and design.

When to Expect the Launch

The official presentation of the new device is scheduled for September 9. The event is expected to begin at 8:00 PM Kyiv time (consistent with the timing of Apple’s September presentations).
