Garmin continues to support its wearable devices by rolling out a fresh firmware update for the Lily 2 model. Although Garmin recently announced its premium Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro flagships (currently retailing on Amazon for $1099 / €1014 / 45,455 UAH), the manufacturer is not neglecting its budget-friendly and time-tested gadgets.
Update 8.30 for Garmin Lily 2
Released in January 2024, the Garmin Lily 2 remains a relevant device with smartphone-based GPS support. Despite more than two and a half years passing since its launch, the company continues to provide regular updates. The current software version 8.30 replaces the previous 8.29 release, which arrived two months ago.
New Firmware Features
According to official information from the Garmin forum, the key changes in version 8.30 include:
- Added new translations for the device’s text interface.
- General improvements to system stability for the smartwatch.
The manufacturer notes that specific technical details regarding the system stability optimizations are not provided.
How to Install the Update
The new firmware is currently rolling out globally and has reached 100% of compatible devices. The update can be downloaded via the following methods:
- Through the Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) app.
- Using the Garmin Express software on a PC.
If the update notification does not appear automatically, users are advised to navigate to the “Check for Updates” section within the GCM or Garmin Express interface to trigger the installation process manually.
