Microlino Lite is a compact city electric car with a range of 100-177 km

Microlino Lite

The Swiss company Micro presented the production version of its ultra-compact two-seater electric car Microlino Lite at the Geneva Motor Show. The body and design as a whole are fully consistent with the BMW Isetta of the 60s.

Small cars are ideal for urban commuting, short trips to the market, taking kids to school and transporting pets. Their compact size allows you to park three Microlino Lites at once in one space that is usually occupied by an SUV. In some countries, even teenagers over the age of 14 can drive such cars; it is enough to have a license to drive a moped. The microcar is equipped with a sunroof and a trunk capacity of 230 liters.

The Microlino Lite has a steel monocoque construction with dimensions of 2.5 m long, 1.47 m wide and 1.5 m high, weighing less than 600 kg. With an engine power of 6kW (peak power 9kW), it is classified as an L6e vehicle, meaning anyone with an AM class moped license can drive one in Europe. The maximum speed of the car is 45 km/h.

Microlino Lite

In the basic version, Microlino Lite is equipped with a 5.5 kWh battery, which provides approximately 100 km of autonomous range. An 11 kWh battery is also available, increasing the range to 177 km. A 5.5 kWh battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in about 2 hours from a 2.2 kWh Type 2 charger, while the larger battery takes about 4 hours.

The Microlino Lite electric car will be available for rent. The entry-level model will cost CHF 149 per month (approximately €156 or $169) for 48 months, based on 5,000 km per year. That’s about double what some people pay to rent a Swapfiets e-bike. The cars will be available in Europe this summer.
