Google Sheets cells can now be turned into beautiful tables

google sheets update design table 2024

Google has updated its spreadsheet program to include the ability to quickly turn blocks of cells into structured tables. This new feature, introduced this week, allows users to easily convert groups of cells into tables with the click of a button.

It simplifies the process of creating and formatting tables by providing quick access to filtering and formatting features that previously required manual processing.

The feature is available through the Format menu and automatically applies basic formatting to selected cells, turning them into a table. This includes changing filter header colors, alternating row colors, and aligning data in cells.

In addition, the update added support for grouping data, creating templates for pre-created tables, and new capabilities for interacting with data through table links.

The innovation became available to all users on May 8.
