Blade 2+ by Black Shark: an ultra-thin magnetic power bank that snaps onto your phone and charges two devices at once

Black Shark, owned by Xiaomi, has introduced the new Blade 2+ portable power bank. The device is aimed at users of smartphones with magnetic charging support, combining a compact form factor, wireless capabilities, and the brand’s recognizable design language.

Magnetic attachment and connectivity options

The Blade 2+ features a built-in magnetic alignment system that allows it to securely attach to the back of a smartphone. This ensures compatibility with devices using the MagSafe standard, as well as similar solutions.

Wireless charging is supported at up to 15W. In addition, the device offers wired connectivity, enabling it to charge two devices simultaneously. This setup can be used, for instance, to power a smartphone and a pair of wireless earbuds at the same time.

Two capacity options

The power bank is available in two versions: 5,000 mAh and 10,000 mAh. The more compact model measures around 8 mm in thickness and weighs just over 100 grams. The higher-capacity version is larger, with a thickness of 13.6 mm and a weight of 175 grams.

Wired charging capabilities also differ between the two. The 5,000 mAh model supports up to 18W, while the 10,000 mAh version reaches up to 22.5W.

For Android smartphones, a magnetic case may be required if the device does not have built-in support for magnetic attachment.

Gaming-inspired design

The device follows Black Shark’s signature design approach, which is closely associated with mobile gaming. Its appearance incorporates futuristic elements and visual accents, setting it apart from more conventional accessories on the market.

Prices and availability

The Blade 2+ is already available in China. The 5,000 mAh version is priced at approximately $23, while the 10,000 mAh model costs around $27 when converted from yuan.
